The Kpando Municipal Assembly has commissioned the rehabilitated Kpando District Police Headquarters at Tsakpe Newtown, as part of a series of infrastructure projects undertaken in the municipality.

The commissioning took place on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, with the Member of Parliament for Kpando, Hon. Sebastian Deh, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Killian Donkor, among the officials leading the activities.

The rehabilitation and handover of the police facility formed part of a broader programme of infrastructure interventions being undertaken across the Kpando Municipality.

The ceremony brought together government and municipal officials, security personnel, community members and other stakeholders to mark the formal completion and commissioning of the facility.

During the ceremony, the ceremonial ribbon was cut to officially mark the commissioning of the rehabilitated District Police Headquarters, after which officials and invited guests proceeded to inspect the facility.

The project represents an intervention in public infrastructure within the municipality, particularly in support of the operations of the Kpando District Police Command.

The commissioning was part of a wider schedule of projects and activities by the Kpando Municipal leadership, which also included the commissioning of educational infrastructure and the presentation of educational materials to selected schools.

The exercise reflects the municipality's focus on infrastructure development and support for public institutions as it continues its development agenda.

Akpini News will continue to follow developments and report on projects and initiatives affecting communities across the Kpando Municipality.
