The acting president of Gbi Traditional Council, Hohoe in the person of Torgbe Worde IV, who announced yesterday a spiritual cleansing that will commence at 11pm on Saturday, December 31, 2022, has put on hold the said activity as stated in His earlier letter released yesterday.
After the information reached members of the community, people became panicked, worried, and scared since many activities will as well be carried out in the community. The said day for the activity to commence will also be a crossover night for churches in the community.
In furtherance of various considerations and to ease the tension and outcry regarding the short notice, Torgbe Worde IV deemed it to put on hold the annual spiritual cleansing of Gbi Traditional Area. He also said that this in no way suggests that we are abandoning our traditions and customs.
According to him, all normal activities pertaining to December 31, 2022 cross-over night shall be observed without any restrictions.
