THE MYSTIC TƆGBI TSALI AKPLƆMADA II.

THE MYSTIC TƆGBI TSALI AKPLƆMADA Pt 2.

On arrival at Deta originally called AGƆNUWOE, Tsali met an earlier settler called KWASI AZÃDAGLI EKPE.Tsali asked for permission to settle by him and when he disagreed and pointed out a far-off area for Tsali to settle, Tsali was displeased and ousted him spiritually, turning him to a fetish Azãdagli Ekpe which is still worshipped by the Tsiame Clan of Deta till today.

Tsali one day, on that lonely Deta island, dipped his hands into his mystery haversack and broadcast by scattering at random several oil plan seeds. An oil plan plantation sprung up at Deta to this day.

From Deta, Tsali traversed the island of Alakple, a known Amɛ Clan settlement. The island dwellers saw him as a weird human being with all the weight of rocks, drums and other personal effects on his body. Alakple being a fishing settlement was, then, under constant attack by Lãlénuwo (Hyaenas) at night.

Tsali asked them to find a piece of raffia so that he could make an amulet for them. The name of the fetish he left behind with them is called AVUTSU. VINƆKƆ AKPALU sang in praise of this fetish and said "Amesiwo katã nɔ nye vɔ̃e dim la, Tɔgbi Avutsu akpɔ wo dzi ɖekaɖeka" meaning "May Tɔgbi Avutsu avenge my cause upon all my enemies in life).

Tsali advised the settlers of Alakple not to be afraid when each night they heard the bark, in unison, of several dogs in the community. The AVUTSU fetish is with the Alakpletɔwo to this day.

From Alakple, Tsali continued his traverse and was believed to have been joined by his junior brother DOE ƉALA.

At ASAFOTSI (Atsafotsi) a village on the Lume Avete road near Tadzeʋu, Tsali discovered his lost kinsmen, ETSƆAFƆWO and their families. Tsali called them out of the woods by blowing his twins-flute, two elders of Etsɔafɔwo, EFIA and KUMƆ at ASAFOTSI responded.

Tsali and Ɖala collected the Etsɔafɔwo and their families and settled them at a safer hideout, KLEVEME, an island to the south-west of Anyako from Abor.

Asafotsi by Lume near Tadzeʋu is believed to be the first settlement of the Etsɔafɔwo in Aŋlɔ. Kleveme marks the original and greatest anscestral home of all the shrines which Tsali left behind on earth. It was in Kleveme that Tsali began to discharge and to reveal the contents of his mysterious haversack.

When Tsali was offered a stool to sit upon at Kleveme, he declined stating that he never sat on a stool before. Tsali twisted some leaves of grass and sat upon it. The spot where Tsali sat and dismantled his haversack was revered as sacred and no weed had ever grown on that spot till date. Kleveme remains a sacred forest and for the immortal memory of Tsali and fetish KLEVE-TESHI.

SEVA - Tsali rose like a feather with all that weight slung over his shoulder once more and marched gaily off to SEVA - EFE. At a spot in the Keta lagoon called BAGÃME, Tsali dropped two pieces of granite rock into the lagoon to serve as boundary pillars for the land which were later to become part of parcel of Tsiame land. These mystery granite rocks, male and female known as SALAKPI (atsu kple enɔ) or LIƑOKPE.

Tsali's other boundary pillars are at HATƆGODO, TSIAME and VUI.

Tsali returned to his kith and kind at Kleveme and settled with them for some time. He released to the women of Kleveme the rock around his neck and this became their WƆTUKPE (Grinding stone).
